Alice Springs Events- May & June 2013

Reception Office - Wednesday, April 17, 2013
Perfect weather? Check. Amazing landscapes? Check. Awesome, fun events? Check. Where are we talking about? Why Alice Springs of course! And, if you like the sound of any or all of the above, then you should be making a bee line to our fair town this May and June.

Upcoming Events:

  • Wide Open Space (May 3 – 5)

The event organisers say: “Wide Open Space is a three-day arts, music and desert culture gathering, is organised by a 100% volunteer crew and is the only event of its kind in Central Australia. For many, it provides the opportunity to experience the heart of our country for the very first time. For the people of Alice Springs, it’s a showcase of the diverse range of creative talents the town has to offer – plus it’s the best goddamned party of the year.”

    For more information, head to:

  • Ingkerreke Commercial Mountain Bike Enduro (May 13th – 17th)

The event organisers say, “Australia's iconic Red Centre is set to host a feast of multi-day mountain biking goodness with the award-winning Ingkerreke Commercial MTB Enduro* packing in five days of incredible riding along the sweet single tracks and trails that explore the inspiring landscapes of the MacDonnell Ranges, near Alice Springs, NT.

    For more information, head to:

  •  Finke Desert Race (June 8 – 10)

The event organisers say, The Tatts Finke Desert Race is an off road, multi terrain two-day race for bikes, cars, buggies and quads through desert country from Alice Springs to the small Aputula (Finke) community. The race is held each year on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June. “Finke” as it is commonly known, is one of the biggest annual sporting events in the Northern Territory and has the reputation of being one of the most difficult offroad courses in one of the most remote places in the world. Finke is unique and the most fun you can have with a helmet on!"

A must visit - the West MacDonnell Ranges

Reception Office - Wednesday, April 17, 2013
At Alice On Todd, we’ve been welcoming tourists for over 10 years now and over time we’ve noticed that the West MacDonnell Ranges seem to leave our guests particularly mesmerised.

People fortunate enough to spend time in the ‘West Mac’ Ranges seem to return from their day trips or camping experiences refreshed, relaxed and quite simply, awe inspired by the natural beauty they’ve seen.

We like to think of the West Mac Ranges as the perfect antidote to a stressful, busy city life.

If you like the idea of seeing some of the world’s most stunning landscapes and being surrounded by nothing but clean air, rock pools and unique flora and fauna, then pack your bags – the West Mac Ranges await!

The ranges themselves can be reached easily by car (4WD) and there are a number of local tour operators who also run day trips and camping experiences to the region. The time taken to reach various parts of the ranges depends on where you elect to visit but as a rough guide, to reach most areas of the ranges you will be looking at a few hours drive.

When in the West Macs we recommend checking out the following:

  • Standley Chasm
  • Simpsons Gap
  • Ellery Creek Big Hole
  • Owen Springs
  • Ormiston Gorge and,
  • Finke Gorge

Closer to town there is also the opportunity to check out:

  • Araluen Cultural Precinct
  • Alice Springs Desert Park

If you want more information about the West Macs, check out the following website:

We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Reception Office - Friday, October 23, 2009
All of us at Alice on Todd Apartments are really excited to announce that after a lengthy design process we have approval to build 22 brand new executive one bedroom apartments right next door to the existing Alice on Todd complex.

And we are not wasting any time. The soil has already been broken and we hope to have the first slab poured next Wednesday. The plans are to have the new apartments ready for next May. Here is an artists impression of how it will look:

We will be updating this as we go so everyone can see the development of this long awaited addition to Alice Springs accommodation options
